TNA World Champion Mike Santana shared a significant personal milestone on social media, announcing he has reached 1,000 days of sobriety. Santana, who has been open about his past struggles, posted a message reflecting on his journey and the work it took to get where he is.
On Wednesday, Santana posted the following statement to his X account:
“1000 DAYS CLEAN AND SOBER. Very proud of this milestone. Blessed with what I’ve been able to accomplish during this time. Both personally and professionally. Living proof of what happens when you put in the work. I’d be lying if I told you that everyday was easy. Life is going to do what life does, but I’m thankful to have a set of tools to help me maneuver thru the bad as well as the good.
Thanks to everyone who’s rode with me thru it all. The ride continues…”
Santana’s 1,000-day journey began on February 16, 2023. He has previously spoken about stepping away from wrestling in 2022 to enter rehab and confront his issues with alcohol, a period he has described as a “dark time.” His personal turnaround directly led to his professional resurgence.
He made his full-time return to TNA Wrestling at the Hard To Kill pay-per-view in January 2024, stating he was more focused and driven than ever before. This new focus propelled him through the ranks of the company all year.
Santana’s hard work culminated last month at TNA’s Bound For Glory event on October 12, 2025. In the main event, he defeated Nic Nemeth in a brutal Full Metal Mayhem match to capture the TNA World Championship for the first time in his career.
The champion’s ride does indeed continue this week. This Friday, November 15, TNA Wrestling presents Turning Point live from Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida. Santana is scheduled for a major tag team match, as he will join forces with Steve Maclin to take on his former rival Nic Nemeth and Frankie Kazarian.
TNA Turning Point streams live this Friday at 8 p.m. ET on TNA+. Tickets for the event are available at Tixr.com.
