MVP: Triple H Is “A Coward And A Liar”

AEW’s MVP has once again taken aim at WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H, this time agreeing with Bret Hart’s famous assertion that he is a “phony.” During a recent interview with Adventure Gamers, MVP elaborated on his feelings, calling Triple H a “coward and a liar.”

‘I Call Him A Coward And A Liar’

When asked about Bret Hart’s past comments, MVP confirmed he felt the same way and stated that his opinion is shared by many of Triple H’s peers from that era.

“Man. I agree with Bret’s assertion. I’ve said before, I call him a coward and a liar,” MVP said. “Let’s put it like this. If you really want to, you can go to YouTube and you can look up the interviews of various wrestlers through the years of what their opinion is of the man. Interviews of guys that were his friends, what they had to say about the guy. I can think of more guys that dislike him than I can think of guys that do like him.”

‘I Just Don’t Have Respect For The Guy’

MVP dismissed any notion that his feelings are based on bitterness, stating they stem from direct, personal issues. “And people say MVP’s salty or bitter. Like, no, I have personal issues with the dude, stemming from professional stuff, but just the things that he does, how he carries himself, I just don’t have respect for the guy.”

This echoes previous comments MVP made during an interview with TMZ Inside The Ring. In that discussion, MVP declined to go into specific details but made his position clear. “I stand by those words. I have zero respect for him, personally or professionally,” he said at the time. “And when I tell why, then people will be like, ‘Okay, that makes sense.’”

‘They Don’t Know That Guy Yet’

In his interview with Adventure Gamers, MVP drew a distinction between the “newer generation” of talent who came up through Triple H’s version of NXT and the veterans who worked with him as a peer.

“The newer generation, they don’t know that guy yet,” MVP explained. “So one of those that came up underneath him in NXT, they think he’s brilliant, and a lot of them should for the hand he’s had in their career. But the guys that had to work with him back in the day will tell you a different story, almost overwhelmingly.”

He concluded by reiterating that his opinion is not an isolated one. “And so it’s not just me saying it. There’s guys who are way up the totem pole than me that are telling you that this guy’s, no bueno.”
