The Undisputed Era is one of the most popular factions in modern wrestling history, but member Bobby Fish revealed they were not instant fans of one of their most iconic elements: their theme music. Speaking on TMZ Inside The Ring, Fish discussed the group’s “banger” theme song.
Hating The Theme
“We hated that thing at first,” Fish admitted. “Well, we might not. Every theme song I’ve ever had has been one I haven’t picked. It’s always been, I’ve always been at least lukewarm in the beginning, and then ended up loving it to the point where, like, I can’t come out to anything else. That’s absurd. So maybe it’s just me.”
He confirmed the music was an “office decision” and credited Triple H for being right. “I’m pretty sure that once it was decided that that was an office decision, and, you know, and they were right,” he said. “I mean, in my time under Hunter there, I learned, don’t, I just don’t fucking doubt him. Now, when it comes to the wrestling industry, like, if his and my opinion don’t align, I’m the asshole and I know it.”
The ‘Premature’ Split
Fish also addressed why the popular faction never made it to the main roster as a group, chalking it up to bad timing. “I think it was considered. I think it was given quite a bit of consideration. Why didn’t it happen? I think maybe more timing than anything else, and then eventually, like we’re in the COVID era,” Fish explained. He also mentioned that a planned continuation of their feud with Pat McAfee was halted due to a “contract, something or other going on there”.
That complication led to the end of the group. “So they that’s where it was, like, Okay, well, what else do we do with UE? And I think they pulled the trigger on the split prematurely, and I think that the powers that be at that time would probably agree with me saying that… they pulled the trigger on a split too soon, you know, earlier than anybody wanted to see. And I think that that’s still why you have sort of the clamorings now of just, you know, seeing the four of us together on screen,”.
