Cody Rhodes to Defend Championship Tonight Against Bronson Reed
A major championship match has been signed for tonight’s show. Cody Rhodes will defend his title against Bronson Reed.
The segment began with an agitated Nick Aldis on the phone, calling for security to be sent to his office. His concerns were validated when Paul Heyman and Reed showed up. Aldis immediately asked what they wanted before he has them escorted from the building.
Heyman, citing the War Games contract, informed Aldis that he can take anybody across all brands. Aldis, unimpressed, stated that he already knew this and again asked them to leave.
Just as security entered the office, they were followed by Cody Rhodes. Rhodes immediately confronted Heyman and Reed, telling Reed that if he’s not here to fight, he needs to leave.” Reed said he’s here to fight.
Taking matters into his own hands, Rhodes then turned to Aldis and asked for a match against Reed for tonight. Paul Heyman immediately interjected, stating that if the match was going to happen, the title should be on the line. In a surprising move, both Cody Rhodes and Nick Aldis agreed to Heyman’s terms, making the championship match official.
