As one of WWE’s most effective heels, Dominik Mysterio often pushes the boundaries of what’s acceptable. On the Towers of Power podcast, he admitted this approach has gotten him into hot water backstage.
When asked if he’s ever felt he’s “gone too far” with an angle, Mysterio explained his philosophy. “I’m the type of guy to ask for forgiveness before permission,” he said. “So I definitely there’s been a few times where I’ve gone to the back and I’m like, oh shit, sorry. I was like, I didn’t know.”
The Dragon Lee Incident
He then revealed a specific incident where he faced backstage heat. “One of them was, I spit on Dragon Lee,” Mysterio admitted. “I got to the back. First thing, they’re like, We don’t spit on people. I was like, I didn’t know.”
Mysterio even shared the excuse he tried to use. “I was like, I didn’t spit on him. I was like, I spit my gum,” he recounted. “Dom, we do not spit on… I was like, That’s my bad. I was like, on me. I didn’t know.”
No More Snot Rockets
That wasn’t the only time his antics were shut down. Mysterio also revealed he was told to stop another one of his disgusting habits, which he would perform during commercial breaks.
“There’s been a couple times in ring too, like, during commercial breaks, I’ll go up in the corner and I’ll hit a snot rocket,” Mysterio said. “Not on anyone in specific. If just someone’s talking shit. I’ll look at them… And I’ve gotten word from the refs. I’ve just been Hey, was told no more snot rockets. Oh, okay, my bad.”
