John Cena: Dominik Mysterio ‘Reminds Me A Lot Of Me,’ And ‘A Lot Of The Mistakes I’ve Made’

Speaking on Raw Recap this week, John Cena reflected on his recent Intercontinental Championship victory over Dominik Mysterio on the November 10 episode of Raw. Despite their heated rivalry, Cena shared his respect for the Judgment Day member, noting similarities between their careers.

“I’m incredibly grateful to get in there with Dom Mysterio (on the November 10 episode of WWE Raw), who I respect and admire,” Cena said. “He reminds me a lot of me, and he reminds me of a lot of the mistakes I’ve made.”

Cena admitted that he sees Dominik heading down a familiar path, one filled with errors he recognizes from his own past. However, he believes these are lessons Dominik must learn on his own.

“I can see all of the mistakes which are about to happen with him, and I want to shake him and be like ‘you’re going to do this’, but I want him to learn for himself,” Cena explained. “But he is authentic, he’s reliable, he works hard and is passionate about the business, he’ll learn, he’ll figure the rest out.”

John Cena is scheduled to defend his newly won Intercontinental Championship against Dominik Mysterio at Survivor Series: WarGames on Saturday, November 29. The event will take place at Petco Park in San Diego, California, which is Mysterio’s hometown. Following this event, Cena has only one scheduled match remaining in his career, set for Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13.
