Backstage News On Nic Nemeth’s WWE Status After Raw Appearance

Nic Nemeth, appearing as Dolph Ziggler for the first time since his WWE departure, made a surprise return on the November 17 episode of Raw from Madison Square Garden. He served as Solo Sikoa’s surprise opponent in the continuation of the “Last Time Is Now” tournament, losing to Sikoa after a Samoan Spike.

Following the event, WWE sources indicated to Fightful that Ziggler is currently not signed to a full WWE contract, a deal reportedly similar to the arrangement made for Matt Cardona (Zack Ryder) the prior week. TNA sources noted that Nemeth, who is still considered to be with TNA, prefers the use of short-term contracts after being with WWE for almost two decades.

Despite the loss, WWE sources noted that the company was happy with his performance. With his victory over Nemeth, Solo Sikoa has advanced in the “Last Time Is Now” tournament.

Meanwhile, Nemeth is the current TNA World Champion and will now turn his focus back to TNA, while WWE builds toward its Survivor Series: WarGames Premium Live Event on November 29 in San Diego, California.
