Silas Mason Crowned New NWA Worlds Champion

Silas Mason is the new NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion! In the thrilling conclusion of NWA 77, which aired Tuesday on π™‰π™’π˜Ό π™‹π™Šπ™’π™€π™π™π™ 𝙀𝙣 𝙍𝙀𝙠π™ͺ, β€œThe Thrillbilly” defeated Thom Latimer to win the National Wrestling Alliance’s legendary β€œTen Pounds of Gold.”

Hailing from Blount County, TN, and logging in at 6’6” and 275 lbs., Mason joined the National Wrestling Alliance in 2022. He is a former NWA National Heavyweight Champion and the longest-reigning territory champion in modern NWA history, holding the NWA Southeast/Joe Cazana Promotions NWA Southeastern Heavyweight title for over 1000 days.

The new NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion is one-third of The Southern Six faction currently dominating the National Wrestling Alliance. Joining him in the trio are NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion β€œToo Hot to Trot” Alex Taylor and second-generation star Kerry Morton, collectively the NWA United States Tag Team Champions.

In addition to wowing pro wrestling audiences for over a decade, Mason boasts an impressive acting resume. In critically-acclaimed film The Iron Claw, a biopic centered on the iconic Von Erich wrestling family, he portrayed Terry β€œBam Bam” Gordy of The Fabulous Freebirds. His talents were also showcased in a nationally broadcast, wrestling-themed commercial for Moon Pie snacks and more.
