Seth Rollins recently provided an update on his shoulder injury and a potential return date. Rollins suffered the injury at WWE Crown Jewel after performing a coast-to-coast headbutt and landing hard. Despite the injury, Rollins finished the match, defeating Cody Rhodes to win the 2025 Crown Jewel Championship. Following the event, the injury forced Rollins to relinquish the World Heavyweight Championship, a title he was actively defending at the time. The injury is a legitimate one, and Rollins had to undergo surgery to repair the damage.
Hoping for a February Comeback
Speaking to Bert Kreischer on his Something’s Burning show, Rollins gave a candid update on his recovery process and what a comeback might look like. He noted that his initial focus is on getting out of his current protective sling. He first commented on the current phase of his recovery:
“Once I get [the sling] off, which is in like another month, then it might be full vacation mode for a little while, before I lock in and have to start training to get ready to come back.”
When asked by Bert Kreischer about the ramp-up process to his return, Rollins explained that the path back to the ring would likely be gradual. He detailed his expectations for training and when he plans to fully focus on a return to competition. Rollins replied to the question about his training schedule by stating:
“It’ll probably be gradual. I don’t even really know. My guess is eight to 12 weeks of, ‘Okay, now I have to stop eating like an asshole.’ Probably 12 weeks. Plus, we’ll be moving right into WrestleMania season. I’m hoping around February, after all the holiday stuff, I can start to be like, ‘Lock in. No more BS.'”
WrestleMania Season in Question
Rollins’ wife, Becky Lynch, who was also a guest on the show, appeared to question his February target, which caused Rollins to reconsider the timeline and offer an alternative date. The current stated prognosis is that Rollins will be out of action for six months, putting his potential return around mid-April, which is extremely tight for WrestleMania. He clarified his timeline, suggesting an alternative:
“Probably, after the Super Bowl and stuff. Give myself a month before I come back. I don’t even know. They say six months, so this could be April.”
While on the sidelines, Rollins has been keeping busy with other opportunities, including NFL media appearances. He is slated to be part of the NFL Christmas on Netflix coverage. The storyline explanation for his absence was that he was betrayed and laid out by his former faction mates Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed on Raw, who are now being positioned as dominant heels on the brand.
