Roman Reigns: “Whether I Have A Title Or Not, Everybody Wants What The Tribal Chief Has”

Roman Reigns acknowledged the growing ambition of younger WWE stars like Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, stating that their desire to claim his position at the top of the main event scene is simply the “circle of life in WWE.” Reigns, who has been working on a reduced schedule since signing a new contract in 2022, drew a direct parallel to his own journey years ago when he was attempting to unseat the top star of that era, Brock Lesnar.

The Shark Tank Mentality

Speaking in an interview ahead of tonight’s Survivor Series: WarGames Premium Live Event, Reigns explained that he views the WWE environment as a constant, cutthroat competition where every talent is aiming for the same finite space at the top. This mentality is what he believes drives the younger roster, especially as he has stepped back from the relentless weekly schedule he once maintained.

“It’s just the circle of life in WWE. 10 years ago, I was the young guy, Brock Lesnar was the top of the mountain, and I was trying to knock him off that peg. Years later, it’s happening to me.”

He noted that the dynamics remain the same now that the target is on his back. Reigns stressed the value of his current status.

“It’s a shark tank. Everybody wants what you have. And I’d say right now, whether I have a title or not, everybody wants what the Tribal Chief has.”

Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed’s Challenge

The two have actively targeted Reigns, with Breakker even proclaiming that Reigns is no longer relevant and that he himself is “The Big Dog” now. Breakker and Reed, members of The Vision faction, have been involved in several attacks on Reigns, including ambushing him after his match at Clash in Paris and attacking him and Jey Uso throughout the summer. Most recently, Bronson Reed secured a victory over Roman Reigns after Bron Breakker interfered in their match at Crown Jewel, a significant win that underscores Reed’s rising threat level.

This all leads to the Men’s WarGames Match tonight at Survivor Series. Check out how to watch the event here.
