Killer Kross Reveals Scrapped Creative Plans Following His WWE Return In 2022

Killer Kross heard he was originally set to face Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns in a match following his return to WWE. In August of 2022, Kross and Scarlett made their return to the company in a segment featuring McIntyre and The Bloodline, where Kross attacked McIntyre before staring down Reigns.

Kross is still hopeful of the match happening. While speaking to Scaredy Cast in a new interview, Kross was asked if there were any matches that he still wants to have in wrestling. He named a match with Reigns while also noting original plans following his WWE return, where he was to work with the former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

“I would have liked to have paid off the match with Roman Reigns. I had heard a few different variations of what was supposed to happen with that. One of the variations was like a potential triple threat between me, Drew, and Roman when we first came back.”

Kross then alluded to a shift in the creative direction that altered these plans significantly. He mentioned that an individual returning to the company influenced the booking, which negatively impacted the storyline for both him and McIntyre.

“But somebody else came back to the company and got involved with creative shortly after us and completely killed that and then drove Drew off a cliff.”

Although the triple threat match never materialized, Kross remains active in the industry. The rivalry between Kross and McIntyre did eventually see some ring time, notably a Strap Match at Extreme Rules 2022, but the program with Reigns was dropped.
