John Cena has sent a message to a WWE name following his final appearance alongside them, ahead of his retirement. The 17-time world champion’s final WWE Premium Live Event appearance is now in the books, with Cena dropping the Intercontinental Championship to Dominik Mysterio at Survivor Series.
Following the event on November 29, WWE ring announcer Alicia Taylor reflected on sharing the ring with Cena. She confirmed that Survivor Series marked the last time she would be introducing the soon-to-be-retired star, prompting a response from the ‘Greatest of All Time’.
Cena has now responded to Taylor, taking to Twitter to share a thank you message. He acknowledged her role in making his moments special and praised her work ethic. “Matches and moments are only memorable if we ALL believe in them. Thank YOU for being a driving force to help audiences around the world enjoy and invest in these moments. NO ONE does it alone. Your professionalism, passion, presentation and overall love of the business lay the foundation for lifelong memories.”
Cena will wrestle his last WWE match at the Saturday Night’s Main Event special on December 13. He is set to face the winner of the ‘Last Time is Now’ tournament, with the semifinals currently taking place on Raw.
