Charlotte Flair Reveals ‘Next Hurdle’ In Ongoing Recovery From Injury

Charlotte Flair has identified the next major challenge in her journey back to 100% following a devastating knee injury. Although “The Queen” returned to action earlier this year by winning the 2025 Royal Rumble, she has continued to compete with a brace on her knee. In a new interview, Flair admitted that removing the protective gear is the final hurdle she needs to clear.

Wrestling With The Brace

Speaking to Men’s Health, Flair opened up about her current status as the year comes to a close. She noted that she is still wearing the brace, though she is unsure if it is medically necessary at this stage. “The only thing is, I still am in my brace. I don’t even know if I’m still in that time period,” Flair said.

She mentioned that she is required to wear a Don Joy brace, but she has customized it to fit her character. “Mine’s bedazzled, so it doesn’t matter. Mine is crystal. My stylist crystalized it for me because we’re like, ‘Oh, this knee brace is ugly. It doesn’t go with my outfit.”

The Next Hurdle

Despite making the brace fashionable, Flair acknowledges that the ultimate goal is to compete without it. However, the timing for that transition remains uncertain. “Do I need to be in it? I don’t know. So that I think is my next, my next hurdle,” she explained.

Context Of The Injury

The injury in question occurred in December 2023 during a SmackDown match against Asuka. Flair suffered a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus, a catastrophic combination that kept her out of action for over a year.

She made her return at the Royal Rumble in January 2025, where she entered at #27 and won the match to earn a title shot at WrestleMania 41. Since then, the brace has been a constant fixture of her in-ring gear as she navigates her comeback tour.
