Dylan Postl, who made a name for himself in WWE as Hornswoggle, has transitioned into a trainer role in recent years. While running his ACW Wisconsin training school, the former Cruiserweight Champion revealed that his son, Landon, wants to enter the family business.
Speaking on TMZ Sports’ Inside the Ring podcast, Postl discussed his son’s passion for professional wrestling. He stated that Landon already participates in sessions at his school and shows advanced aptitude for in-ring work. However, Postl is enforcing strict rules regarding his son’s formal training timeline.
“I know he does. All he wants to do is professionally wrestle,” Postl said. “I cannot train him until he’s 17 because he’s already going to deal with nepotism stuff and all of that. I won’t break the rules for him. But he goes to our secret Sunday classes and he’s already doing stuff that advanced students are doing. It’s all he knows and all he loves. He finally showed interest in law enforcement a few months ago and I was like, ‘Yes, please do that.’”
Connections With Ethan Page And Brian Myers
Beyond physical training, Landon has begun networking with established industry names. Postl mentioned that his son frequently communicates with WWE Superstar Ethan Page and TNA star Brian Myers. Myers and Postl have a long-standing friendship and often collaborate on projects related to the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast.
“But he has such a love for this business and such a love for everything wrestling,” Postl said. “He texts Ethan Page and Brian Myers and all of these guys without me being in the chats just about wrestling and just about life and just like all that. It’s his knowledge, and his want for more knowledge is crazy. That’s another thing… a connection and a bond that we have that’s very strong, and I’m so thankful for that one.”
The Reality Of The Wrestling Business
Despite supporting his son’s passion, Postl is realistic about the difficulties of making a living in professional wrestling. He stressed the importance of having a backup plan, noting that success often depends on luck and timing rather than skill alone.
“But also, I need to tell, and I need him to realize [to] have that be the backup plan because… I tell all my students, ‘It’s not like football or basketball or baseball, where you’re the number one in the country, so you’re going to get picked up. Wrestling isn’t about that. You can be the best professional wrestler in the world and you’re going to be making $20 a weekend.’ It’s luck and opportunity and right place, right time nowadays. It would be a really freaking cool feeling if he decides to do it and does something with it. I just know his passion for it and that alone would make me happy.”
Postl recently re-established his own official relationship with WWE. In October 2024, he announced during an ACW Wisconsin event that he had signed a WWE Nostalgia contract. This deal allows the company to utilize his likeness for merchandise, action figures, and potential appearances, similar to other legends deals.
