The mystery surrounding the masked man who has been aiding “The Vision” deepened following this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. The assailant appeared twice during the December 8 show, first attacking Rey Mysterio and later costing LA Knight his main event match against Logan Paul. According to a new report from Bryan Alvarez on X, WWE may be using multiple performers to conceal the character’s true identity.
“In an effort to throw fans off, it appears at least two different people have been under the mystery man mask,” Alvarez wrote.
This tactic aims to confuse fans who are trying to identify the wrestler based on body type or mannerisms. The character first appeared at Survivor Series: WarGames, interfering in the Men’s WarGames match to help Bron Breakker secure the win for Paul Heyman’s team. During that appearance, the masked figure delivered a curb stomp to CM Punk, mimicking Seth Rollins’ signature move.
Dave Meltzer addressed the situation in the December 8 edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, reporting that Austin Theory was the person under the mask at Survivor Series. Meltzer revealed that Theory was originally scheduled to be a part of the match itself.
“Austin Theory was the guy under the mask. Paul Heyman had wanted to bring Theory into the Vision, largely to make him a star and to protect Breakker and Reed from having to take pins,” Meltzer wrote. “He would have been in this match had Jacob Fatu not gotten hurt, which sped up the Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre feud… The Fatu injury led to Rhodes moving into the WarGames team, and with him in the match, McIntyre made far more sense than Theory.”
On Raw, the masked man helped Logan Paul defeat LA Knight by stomping Knight’s head into the announce table while the referee was distracted. The show ended with a brutal beatdown of Knight by The Vision, culminating in Bronson Reed hitting a Tsunami splash on Knight on top of a car backstage.
