A WWE developmental talent has officially received a new in-ring name as he continues his progression through the NXT system. According to a new report from BodySlam.net, Anthony Luke will no longer be using his real name moving forward.
He will now go by the name Kam Hendrix. While the exact inspiration behind the creative choice is unknown, the surname immediately draws comparison to legendary musician Jimi Hendrix. Luke, who signed with WWE after participating in tryouts ahead of SummerSlam 2023, has a background in elite athletics.
He was previously a defensive end at San Diego State University and briefly joined the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League in 2020. He made his in-ring debut at an NXT live event in April 2024 and has been featured on the first two seasons of the WWE LFG series.
Luke debuted his new Kam Hendrix persona at a house show on November 22, where he teamed with Brooks Jensen and Lexis King to defeat the team of Dante Chen, Shiloh Hill, and Drake Morreaux.
Outside of the ring, Luke is known to fans as the real-life fiancé of WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Maxxine Dupri. As he adopts this new moniker, it remains to be seen when he will make his official television debut on NXT.
