Top AEW Star Is Expected ‘To Miss Quite A Bit Of Time’

The Hurt Syndicate spokesperson MVP announced on yesterday’s AEW Collision: Winter is Coming that Bobby Lashley is sidelined with an injury. The segment did not provide specific details regarding the nature of the issue or how long the former World Champion would be out of action. The announcement comes after Lashley has been absent from AEW programming since last month, raising questions about his status within the promotion.

Fightful Select provided an update on the situation, reporting that Lashley’s injury is legitimate. While specific details on the ailment remain scarce, the report noted that Lashley is expected “to miss quite a bit of time.” This development takes one of AEW’s top heels off the board for the immediate future, affecting storylines involving The Hurt Syndicate as they approach the end of 2025.

Lashley last wrestled at AEW Full Gear 2025 last month. He competed in the Casino Gauntlet match, which was intended to crown the first AEW National Champion. Despite a strong showing, Lashley did not walk away with the gold. Ricochet won the match to become the inaugural AEW National Champion, establishing himself as a top name in the division, while Lashley moved on to other business with his stable.

The former WWE Champion signed with AEW a little over a year ago, making his Dynamite debut on October 30, 2024. He quickly reunited with MVP and Shelton Benjamin, his old stablemates from the Hurt Business in WWE, to form The Hurt Syndicate. The group found success early on, with Benjamin and Lashley capturing the AEW World Tag Team Titles on Dynamite in January. They held the championships for 214 days before losing them at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in London to the team of Brodido.

Although Lashley is currently injured, The Hurt Syndicate continues to move forward on AEW television. Shelton Benjamin is set to compete in the AEW Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale next week. He will face competition from names such as Mark Davis, Brody King, Anthony Bowens, Max Caster, and Ricochet. The match will take place at AEW Dynamite: Holiday Bash, which is set for Wednesday, December 17.
