Positive News On Recovery Of Injured WWE Superstar

JD McDonagh has announced he will take a leave of absence from WWE television. The Judgment Day member posted a photo on his Instagram Stories this week from a hospital bed, stating that he needs time off to “get put back together.” A follow-up post seemingly indicated that the “Irish Ace” underwent surgery on his hand.

While WWE has not confirmed the exact nature of McDonagh’s injury, his tag team partner Finn Balor provided an update after visiting him in the hospital. Balor took to Twitter to reassure fans about McDonagh’s condition.

“I just got home this very second from checking on my dear friend [JD McDonagh] & I can confirm that he is in good spirits & will make a full recovery,” Balor wrote.

Balor was absent from this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, leaving Dominik Mysterio to explain his whereabouts. Mysterio told fellow Judgment Day members Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez that Balor was away checking on McDonagh following his injury announcement. It is currently unclear how long McDonagh will be out of action, but he is expected to make a full recovery.

JD McDonagh last competed on the November 24 episode of Raw, where he suffered a loss to Rey Mysterio. WWE is currently building toward the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event, which takes place on January 31, 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
