AEW Star’s Contract Expiring Later Than Expected

A new report from Fightful Select has provided clarification on the contract status of AEW star Anna Jay. While previous speculation suggested her deal would end imminently, the updated timeline indicates she remains under contract for a longer period than initially believed.

Contract Expiry Timeline

Fightful Select reports that Jay’s contract is now expected to expire within the next six months, potentially in Spring 2026. Sources close to the outlet previously believed her deal would conclude by the start of 2026, but that timeline has since been corrected.

Exploring Options

The report notes that Jay is “actively exploring other options” outside of AEW. Fightful Select’s sources claim she possesses connections within both WWE and its developmental brand, NXT.

Recent AEW Status

Speculation regarding Jay’s status increased after she expressed hope to participate in the first-ever women’s Blood & Guts match but was ultimately not included. The report mentions that some within the industry became aware of her contract situation following this omission. While Fightful Select stated she has not appeared on AEW television since that time, she did compete on the November 19 edition of Collision. In that match, she teamed with Tay Melo in a losing effort against Marina Shafir and Megan Bayne.

Jay originally debuted for AEW in April 2020 during the pandemic-era tapings at the Nightmare Factory in Norcross, Georgia. Since her arrival, she has wrestled nearly 130 matches for the company and made five appearances for Ring of Honor. She also completed a notable tour with Stardom in Japan earlier in 2024.
