Eric Bischoff recently opened up about a harrowing experience with a stalker during his time as a high-profile wrestling executive. Responding to a fan question on 83 Weeks about whether he ever received credible threats, Bischoff revealed that a disturbing situation involving a fan escalated to the point where federal authorities had to intervene.
A Years-Long Ordeal
Bischoff explained that the harassment came from a “disturbed young woman” and persisted for several years. Initially, he dismissed the strange letters he received at his home, but the behavior soon intensified.
“I had a stalker once, and the FBI had to get involved,” Bischoff said. “It was a disturbed young woman, and this was like it went on for years, like five or eight years, and you know, she would mail stuff to the house, and, you know, initially, you [get] something in the mail, you know, you read it, you look at it, you go, Wow, that’s crazy. And you throw [it] in the garbage. Then you get another one, and you get another one, and you keep getting them.”
Escalation And Intervention
As the content of the mailings became increasingly erratic, Bischoff realized he could no longer ignore the threat. He eventually contacted Turner Broadcasting’s security team, which led to involvement from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
“Then you start looking at them, and they get a little weirder and a little weirder and a little weirder at that point, I turned him over to Turner security for a variety of reasons, not that I’ll get into here, but I decided it was time to get somebody else involved,” Bischoff explained. “I couldn’t just throw them in the garbage and forget about it any longer. And Turner took it from there, and ultimately, the FBI got involved.”
Bischoff continues to be active in the wrestling world through his podcast and his new venture, Real American Freestyle. The promotion is set to hold its fifth event, RAF 05, on January 10, 2026, featuring a matchup between Yoel Romero and Bo Nickal.
