WWE Star Pulled From The Road Due To An Injury

Michin (Mia Yim) has been pulled from the remainder of the WWE Holiday Tour after sustaining a shoulder injury this past week. The development was first confirmed by Fightful Select following an Instagram post by the SmackDown wrestler indicating her tour was ending earlier than expected. While the specific severity of the injury has not been disclosed, she will be replaced in her scheduled matches against Jade Cargill for the duration of the tour.

The injury occurred during a period where Michin was consistently featured in storylines on Friday Night SmackDown. She has been involved in an ongoing feud with WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill that began on the November 14 episode, when Cargill dismissed Michin following a victory over B-Fab. The rivalry escalated on December 12 when Michin attempted a kendo stick attack on Cargill, only to be overpowered and hit with a chokeslam. Their most recent televised interaction took place on the December 19 episode during a backstage segment.

Michin’s history with WWE began when she competed in the inaugural Mae Young Classic in 2017. Following a standout performance in the 2018 tournament quarterfinals, she was offered an NXT contract by Triple H. During her tenure in NXT from 2018 to 2020, she became a prominent figure in the women’s division, notably participating in the buildup to the first-ever women’s WarGames match and engaging in a high-profile rivalry with Dakota Kai.

In 2020, she transitioned to the main roster as a member of the masked stable Retribution, performing under the ring name Reckoning. Following the disbandment of the group, she was drafted to Raw but remained off television until her release from the company on November 4, 2021. After a stint in Impact Wrestling, she returned to WWE on November 7, 2022, as the “Michin” persona to align with The O.C. (AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson) in their feud against The Judgment Day.

Prior to her recent rivalry with Cargill, Michin had been active in singles competition on the blue brand, including matches against Chelsea Green. WWE has not yet officially announced a recovery timeline for her shoulder injury.
