REPORT: WWE Is Delaying Teased Championship Match

Liv Morgan has officially returned to the WWE fold, making an impact at Survivor Series by helping Dominik Mysterio defeat John Cena to regain the Intercontinental Championship. Following her interference at the Premium Live Event, Morgan continued to make headlines on the December 1 episode of Raw. In a backstage segment, Morgan made her presence known by confronting current Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer, sparking speculation among WWE fans about a potential title program between the two.

Despite the on-screen tease, reports indicate that a match between Morgan and Vaquer is not expected to happen immediately. According to BodySlam.net, while the matchup has been discussed “for some time,” it is not considered an “imminent buildup.” Instead, WWE officials are reportedly planning to build toward the contest as a long-term storyline, allowing the tension between the two stars to develop organically over the coming months.

Stephanie Vaquer has been the focal point of the Raw women’s division recently, part of storylines with both Judgment Day member Raquel Rodriguez and WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella. On this week’s episode of Raw in Orlando, she successfully retained her Women’s World Championship in a match against both Rodriguez and Bella.

Beyond the potential Morgan rivalry, WWE management reportedly has high hopes for Vaquer’s future challengers. Sources note that the company sees “tremendous value” in having Vaquer eventually face off against Becky Lynch and Rhea Ripley. These matchups are said to be part of the broader plan for Vaquer’s title run, to be executed “when the time is right” rather than rushing them onto television.
