Giulia is once again the WWE Women’s United States Champion. On tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, she defeated Chelsea Green to reclaim the title she recently lost.
Giulia began the contest aggressively, landing a dropkick immediately at the opening bell and forcing the action to ringside. After an altercation where Giulia shoved Alba Fyre, Green responded with a suicide dive to gain the advantage.
Inside the ring, Giulia controlled stretches of the match utilizing headbutts, a missile dropkick, and a Curb Stomp. Green rallied, escaping a sleeper hold to connect with a dragon whip and a facebuster for a near fall. Green successfully executed the “Rough Ryder,” but a pinfall attempt was thwarted when Kiana James distracted the referee.
The match concluded when Green attempted to ascend the turnbuckles. Giulia intercepted her with a slap and a headbutt before executing a butterfly superplex. She immediately rolled through the impact into a Northern Lights Bomb to secure the pinfall victory.
This victory marks Giulia’s second reign as Women’s United States Champion. She had been pursuing a rematch since losing the belt to Green. Momentum shifted in Giulia’s favor last week on the December 26 episode of SmackDown, where she pinned Green in a tag team match while teaming with Kiana James.
