Last week Dave Meltzer reported that Rey Mysterio may have suffered a knee injury. Actually, his knee is fine. The injury is actually to his hand and that explains why he’s been out of action. There is no word on how bad the injury is but it was bad enough that it was swelling up. The feeling is that he will be back soon. There is no word on an official diagnosis but it could be a torn ligament.
Rey was not booked originally for WrestleMania or for Raw on the next night but he was a late addition to the battle royal and on Raw the following night. As far as his contract status, he still has not signed a new deal but they do want to sign him. One thing to note is that for the first time in years, his merchandise numbers are not near the top but you can also point to the fact that he’s not on TV as much because of his injuries. Mysterio number 2 in merchandise sales.
