It looks like AEW will be getting one of its stars back shortly after being away for over a year.
At a time when AEW is looking to build momentum as their media rights talks with Warner Bros. Discovery heat up ahead of their deal expiring later this year, AEW President Tony Khan has one of the most loaded rosters in the history of the wrestling business and a star-studded women’s division.
Tay Melo shared in a recent social media post that she is getting back in the ring to train for her in-ring return. She’s been away first due to a back injury before taking time off for maternity leave as she and her husband, Sammy Guevara, welcomed the birth of their first child last November.
At last year’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view, they announced the exciting news. She wrote the following in a post on Twitter:
“So happy to be able to be in the ring again. With a lot of patience, I’ll get ready to be back, it’s a whole new body & I still feel so week inside.. I got frustrated a couple times, had to hold my tears and keep going. My body was my baby’s home for 40 weeks, and now I’ll get stronger, not just for me but for her too. It’s a long way to go but I’m closer than yesterday.”
Guevara has been away from AEW television due to a suspension for not following concussion protocol in a match with Jeff Hardy on AEW Rampage.
