Absent AEW Star Wrestles First Match In Nearly Two Years

An AEW star who has been absent from television made her return to in-ring action.

Tayo Melo teamed with Mina Shirakawa against Athena and Thekla for a tag team match at the STARDOM New Year Dream 2025 show. The finish saw Athena nail Melo with an O-Face and win the match for her team.

Melo was first sidelined with a back injury before taking time off for maternity leave as she and her husband, Sammy Guevara, welcomed their first child last November. After giving birth and recovering, Melo started to share footage of her training in the ring.

The AEW star last wrestled in March 2023 at NEW Wrestlefest XXVII while working a mixed tag team match. However, she hasn’t worked a match in AEW since January 2023.

It’s unclear when she will return to AEW TV.
