A star is born after a huge upset on tonight’s AEW Dynamite broadcast on TBS.
Chris Jericho said that he would be wrestling a “tune up” match on tonight’s broadcast and it would be against a “jobber.” The “jobber” was Action Andretti, an up and coming star who has been wrestling for about 3 years.
Andretti has been wrestling around the country on independent shows and he’s wrestled at AEW Dark tapings. On tonight’s show, he looked great and seemed close to winning the match several times but it looked like Jericho was going to win in the end.
To the surprise of everyone in attendance, Andretti was able to roll up Jericho for the win. After the match, Jericho looked on in disbelief as Andretti celebrated around ringside.
Going into the match, the announcers talked about Jericho losing to Claudio Castagnoli’s airplane spin at ROH Final Battle and it looks like Jericho might be going through some rough times until he gets his confidence back.
