In a wild championship match on AEW Dynamite, The Opps (Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Katsuyori Shibata) successfully defended their AEW World Trios Titles against the new alliance of AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page, Eddie Kingston, and Hook.
The match quickly devolved into chaos, spilling out of the ring. Powerhouse Hobbs and “Hangman” Adam Page brawled up the aisle, where Hobbs slammed Page off the entrance ramp and crashed onto a table below. Page did not return to action.
Back in the ring, Samoa Joe held Eddie Kingston in place for a kick from Katsuyori Shibata. However, Kingston managed to move out of the way at the last second, causing Shibata to mistakenly blast his own partner, Joe, with the kick.
Despite the miscommunication, the champions’ power proved to be too much. Powerhouse Hobbs managed to catch Hook, locking him in a devastating backbreaker that forced Hook to submit and the Opps remain the AEW World Trios Champions after a hard-fought and chaotic battle.
As the show was going off the air, the graphic on the screen came up that next week on AEW Dynamite will feature “Hangman” Adam Page vs Powerhouse Hobbs in a Falls Count Anywhere Match.
