Inducted into the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and WWE Halls of Fame, Morton and Gibson are one of the most successful tag teams in wrestling history. They were multi-time tag team champions in various NWA territories during the 1980s, including Mid-South Wrestling, Jim Crockett Promotions, and Smoky Mountain Wrestling, revolutionizing tag team wrestling. They’ve previously appeared in AEW, feuding with Santana & Ortiz in 2019 and FTR in 2020. They continue to appear on the independent scene.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express appearances add to a busy start to the year for AEW, which begins with Dynamite’s “Fight for the Fallen” special on January 1. That show will air live on TBS and Max.
