AEW To Bring Back Special Dynamite Episode In 2026

AEW is set to continue its international expansion in the coming year, with AEW President Tony Khan officially confirming that the company will return to Mexico in 2026. Following a successful debut in the country, Khan revealed that the Grand Slam event will once again emanate from south of the border, continuing the promotion’s strategic partnership with CMLL.

During a guest appearance on Q101 with Case Lowe, Khan was asked about the company’s future touring schedule and the possibility of returning to the region. He did not mince words, offering a definitive answer regarding his intentions for the next calendar year.

“100%. I definitely want to do Grand Slam Mexico again and we have amazing partners in CMLL, so I would want to work with them,” Khan said. “Grand Slam Mexico will be back in 2026 and I’m just pleased that they’ll have us.”

The inaugural Grand Slam Mexico took place in 2025 and was widely considered a big event for both organizations. Khan reflected on the success of that first show, specifically highlighting the atmosphere at the historic Arena Mexico in Mexico City. However, he also noted that the company is exploring options to bring the AEW product to other major markets within the country.

“I can’t wait to go back,” Khan said. “We had a great experience at Arena Mexico in Mexico City, there are other great cities in Mexico that we’d like to visit. That’s something that I’d hope to be able to do and we do have the great pleasure of partnering with CMLL and them hosting us in their territory and their venues.”

Khan went on to praise the leadership at CMLL, specifically citing Salvador Lutteroth for his role in fostering the collaboration between the two promotions. “It’s an honor, and I love working with Salvador and everybody at CMLL. They’re having a great year, and it’s been great with AEW and CMLL working together this year,” Khan said.

This announcement adds to an already robust international schedule for AEW. The company held the inaugural Grand Slam Australia in February 2025 and has already confirmed a follow-up event set for Sydney on February 14, 2026.
