AEW Discussed Kenny Omega Feud With Absent Star

A previously unrevealed AEW creative pitch for Kenny Omega’s return to the company earlier this year has now come to light, indicating Omega was considered to work with another currently absent star, Jack Perry.

Omega made his wrestling comeback at NJPW’s Wrestle Dynasty event in January 2025, where he defeated Gabe Kidd. This marked his first match in over a year following a serious bout with diverticulitis that led to hospitalization.

Shortly after, Omega made his official AEW in-ring return on the January 15, 2025, edition of Dynamite, securing a victory over Bryan Cage. While Omega was in a prominent feud with the Don Callis Family and captured the AEW International Championship from Konosuke Takeshita, new information from Fightful Select reveals that alternative plans were discussed.

The report states that some ideas were “floated around” for  Perry to be involved in a storyline with Omega following the latter’s AEW return. However, these plans ultimately did not materialize.

J Perry has not competed in an AEW ring since losing the TNT Championship to Daniel Garcia at the Full Gear pay-per-view in November 2024.
