AEW Double or Nothing on May 24 at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York is tracking as the second-largest gate in AEW history in the United States, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The show sits behind only last year’s All In Texas in terms of domestic revenue, and ranks fourth overall in company history behind the two Wembley Stadium shows in 2023 and 2024. With 13,848 tickets distributed and a listed full capacity of 14,053, the show will sell out in advance. The secondary market has strengthened significantly with so few seats remaining, with a get-in price now sitting at $73.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that the card has grown to eight confirmed matches with the addition of three Owen Hart Foundation Tournament bouts and a seven-on-seven Anarchy in the Arena match, with a ninth teased. The title vs. hair stipulation added to Darby Allin’s main event defense against MJF has further strengthened the show’s appeal from a marquee standpoint. Dave Meltzer wrote that he expects a very good pay-per-view buyrate for Double or Nothing, likely surpassing every AEW show since All In Texas, though probably short of Revolution levels.
Before Double or Nothing, AEW runs Ring of Honor Supercard of Honor tonight in Salisbury, Maryland, with AEW Collision the following night at the same venue. Both shows take place at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center, a 3,000-seat building that was a regular stop for pro wrestling during the WWWF era. Mark Briscoe noted the venue is 1.4 miles from where he was born and near where he currently lives. Supercard of Honor has 1,240 tickets distributed with Collision at 1,129. The pre-show begins at 7 p.m. ET with the main card at 8 p.m. Both shows run opposite SmackDown.
The Supercard of Honor card is headlined by Bandido defending the ROH Championship against Blake Christian. Athena defends the ROH Women’s Championship in a Survivor of the Fittest six-person elimination match against Zayda Steel, Maya World, Trish Adora, Billie Starkz and Yuka Sakazaki. A win extends Athena’s reign as the longest-reigning champion in ROH history and the longest-reigning American world champion since Dory Funk Jr.’s NWA title reign ended in 1973. The remainder of the card features Deonna Purrazzo vs. Diamante for the Pure Women’s title, Red Velvet vs. Viva Van for the Women’s TV title, AR Fox vs. Lio Rush for the TV title, Lee Moriarty vs. Ace Austin for the Men’s Pure title, Mark Davis vs. Xelhua for the National title, the ROH Trios Champions defending against Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz and Myron Reed, and Nigel McGuinness vs. Josh Woods under Pure rules.
