AEW Double Or Nothing breaks all-time record for largest non-WWE gate

This year’s AEW Double Or Nothing event is already off to a great start as the promotion had a strong demand for tickets to the event.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW has broken the all-time record for the largest gate in North America for any promotion other than WWE.

12,939 tickets at the Michelob ULTRA Arena, formerly known as the Mandalay Bay Events Center, have been sold for the upcoming pay-per-view for a total of $1,145,000.

The previous record was held by the 2019 NJPW/ROH G1 Supercard event at Madison Square Garden with $1,100,000, The only other $1 million gate was for the Atlantis vs. Ultimo Guerrero mask vs. mask match at the 2014 CMLL Anniversary show at Arena Mexico.

The first AEW show was Double Or Nothing in 2019 from Las  Vegas. The. 2020 and 2021 Double Or Nothing events were held from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
