AEW Dynamite Preview: Contract Signing, PAC Vs. Will Ospreay

AEW Dynamite comes to the Canada Life Center in Winnipeg, Manitoba, tonight for what figures to be an emotional and eventful homecoming for Kenny Omega, who will sign a contract for his AEW World Championship match against MJF at Dynasty and also compete in a six-man tag team match on the same evening.

The contract signing between MJF and Omega is the centerpiece of tonight’s show. Omega earned the opportunity last week by defeating Swerve Strickland to become the new number one contender. The two have history, with MJF having defeated Omega in their only previous meeting in 2023 to retain the AEW World Championship and break Omega’s record to become the longest-reigning champion in AEW history. MJF has made clear that any physicality during the contract signing will result in the Dynasty match being called off.

Omega will also be pulling double duty tonight by teaming with AEW National Champion Jungle Jack Perry and Brody King against The Demand. Ricochet has expressed frustration that Omega skipped the line on his path to the world title and is looking to make a statement in front of Omega’s hometown crowd.

Also on tonight’s card, Will Ospreay returns to AEW competition against PAC ahead of his Dynasty match against Jon Moxley. Ospreay defeated PAC in their only previous AEW singles encounter at All Out 2024, but the stakes are different now with Ospreay seeking revenge on Moxley and the Death Riders, who injured his neck at Forbidden Door London. A win for PAC would swing momentum toward the Death Riders heading into Dynasty.

Mina Shirakawa, Alex Windsor, and Jamie Hayter also face the Triangle of Madness in a six-woman tag, with Shirakawa looking to avenge her partner Toni Storm following Thekla and the Sisters of Sin’s continued gloating about Storm’s extended absence from AEW.

AEW Dynamite airs tonight at 8 p.m. EST on TBS and can also be streamed on Max, Fubo TV, DirecTV, Sling TV, Hulu Plus Live TV, and YouTube TV.
