AEW Dynamite Preview: Hangman Page Teams With Hook, Blood & Guts Advantage

AEW continues its autumn tour of Texas tonight for an episode of Dynamite at the Bayou Music Center in Houston. The show will feature a six-man tag team bout, the continuation of the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Tournament, and the beginning of the “Advantage” matches for next week’s Blood & Guts special.

World Champion In Trios Action

AEW Men’s World Champion Hangman Adam Page will team with Hook and Eddie Kingston to face the AEW World Trios Champions, The Opps (Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Katsuyori Shibata). This match comes after Page’s shocking transformation into a disguised Tony Schiavone on last week’s Halloween edition of Dynamite, which he used to get the jump on his rivals.

There is no love lost between Page and The Opps. Samoa Joe, who earned a rematch for the world title at Full Gear, will be on the lookout for revenge against the champion tonight. While The Opps are a well-oiled machine, this marks the first time that Hangman, Hook, and Kingston have ever teamed together.

Women’s Tag Tournament Continues

The inaugural AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Tournament continues with a high-profile quarterfinal match. In a dream team of two of AEW’s most decorated stars, TBS Champion Mercedes Moné and ROH Women’s World Champion Athena will make their tournament debut. They will face the Babes of Wrath, Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale, opponents both champions are very familiar with.

Last week, Moné and Athena got the better of Moné’s Full Gear opponent, AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander, before Cameron and Nightingale ran out to make the save. This match also raises questions about Moné’s focus, as she is involved in the Blood & Guts match next week, challenging for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Full Gear, and juggling multiple other titles.

Blood & Guts Advantage

Tonight will also feature the start of the Blood & Guts Advantage Battles. To determine which team will get the one-person advantage in next week’s Blood & Guts matches, representatives from each team will compete. The first team (across both men’s and women’s divisions) to secure two wins on Dynamite and Collision will win the advantage.

For the men’s advantage, The Conglomeration’s Orange Cassidy will wrestle the Death Riders’ Claudio Castagnoli in the first match, and Darby Allin will face Daniel Garcia in the second. If a tiebreaker is needed, Roderick Strong and Jon Moxley will battle on Collision. For the women’s advantage, Queen Aminata will face Megan Bayne in their first match tonight.
