AEW Dynamite Preview: Kenny Omega Vs. Josh Alexander, Swerve Strickland Vs. Kevin Knight

All Elite Wrestling returns to the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida, tonight for a live episode of AEW Dynamite. The show features a packed lineup, highlighted by a first-time-ever singles encounter, a street fight, and the in-ring debut of a new tag team.

Kenny Omega is set to face Josh Alexander in a highly expected singles match. Alexander, a member of the Don Callis Family, is responsible for putting Omega’s longtime friend and tag team partner, Kota Ibushi, out of action indefinitely. While the two have circled each other for months in multi-man matches, tonight marks their first one-on-one meeting. Omega looks to kick off 2026 with a victory over the faction that has been a thorn in his side since 2023.

The new AEW World Trios Champions, JetSpeed (Kevin Knight & “Speedball” Mike Bailey), will both be in singles action against former World Champions. Kevin Knight takes on Swerve Strickland. Strickland previously praised Knight as the future of AEW, but Knight emphasized that he is also the present. This comes after Knight pinned Powerhouse Hobbs to win the trios titles last week on Collision alongside “Hangman” Adam Page.

“Speedball” Mike Bailey will face Samoa Joe. Following the loss of the trios titles, Joe is reportedly on the hunt for blood. This will be the first singles match between Joe and Bailey.

AEW World Champion MJF will appear live in Orlando. Coming off a successful defense against Bandido last week and a victory over Alec Price at a Limitless Wrestling event on Friday, MJF has made it clear he intends to be a traveling champion. Following his match against Price, MJF revealed that Price and his partner Jordan Oliver are officially All Elite. Price and Oliver will make their AEW debut tonight against the reigning AEW World Tag Team Champions, FTR.

In other faction warfare, the Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, & Daniel Garcia) will take on the Don Callis Family (Hechicero, Lance Archer, & Rocky Romero) in a Street Fight. This follows a verbal altercation between Moxley and Don Callis on Collision that resulted in an attack by the Family.

The women’s division will see “Timeless” Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa, known as the Timeless Love Bombs, face Penelope Ford and Megan Bayne. Ford recently cleared to return to the ring and looks to settle the score
