AEW International Championship Match
Orange Cassidy (Champion) vs Penta El Zero Miedo
Our live coverage begins at 8 PM EST
Jon Moxley vs Komander (w/ Alex Abrahantes)
Komander went for the 450 splash, but Moxley got his knees up. Moxley hit Komander with a lariat and a piledriver for a two-count. Moxley struck Komander with a series of elbows and locked him in the rear naked sleeper for the submission victory.
===Winner: Jon Moxley
In a pre-taped interview, Orange Cassidy said if he survives his match against Penta tonight, then he will face Moxley at All Out this Sunday. He’s not the same Orange Cassidy that started four years ago and he’s going to show him why.
In a clip from Sunday at All In, FTR came up to the Young Bucks in the locker room. FTR said they wanted to show the Bucks respect and offered a handshake. The Bucks said they lost on the show they created, but they said FTR were the better men tonight. Jay White, Juice Robinson, and The Gunns came in. They agreed to a 8-man tag team match against FTR and The Young Bucks at All Out.
Backstage, Toni Storm said she can’t trust Saraya after her Wembley match and can’t trust anybody.
In the ring, Chris Jericho asked Sammy Guevera to come to the ring. Jericho told him that he didn’t think Guevera did everything he could to help him in his match against Will Ospreay at All In, but looking back at the footage, he did do everything and he wants to apologize for pushing him. Guevera shook his hand. He told Jericho he would always have his back and a little push will not break them up and they hugged. Jericho said maybe he would have won his match against Ospreay if he would have held his tights or if Guevera would have hit Ospreay harder with the baseball bat. Guevera told Jericho if he would have hit Ospreay harder with the Judas Effect, maybe he would have won. Jericho said let’s stop throwing barbs at each other, reunite The Sex Gods, and start our way to the AEW Tag Team Championship starting next week on Dynamite. Guevera agreed and they hugged again.
Backstage, Moxley said he will face the winner of Orange Cassidy vs Penta at All Out and he will win because he has the biggest bite.
New Japan Strong Openweight Championship Match:
Eddie Kingston (Champion) vs Wheeler Yuta
Kingston and Yuta exchanged chops. Yuta hammered Kingston with a series of elbows in his arms and neck. Kingston hit Yuta with suplex and a back elbow and pinned him.
===Winner: Eddie Kingston
At All In, Adam Cole said congratulations to MJF. MJF said there is going to be a Battle Royal on Rampage to decide who will face them for their ROH Tag Team titles at All Out and there is going to be a tournament to decide who will face him for the AEW Championship at Grand Slam.
Backstage, Don Callis asked Sammy Guevera if it is hard to deal with a sociopath like Chris Jericho. Guevera told him he knows what he’s up to and to get lost.
In the ring, Adam Cole said he lost to MJF and that hurt, but he knows at some point he will get another shot at the AEW title. He said MJF is not in great shape. His neck is pretty banged up, but MJF will be ready to go at All Out. Roderick Strong, Matt Bennett, and Mike Bennett came in the ring. Strong told Cole that he cares more about MJF’s neck than his. Cole said this is getting ridiculous and he doesn’t know if it’s because he’s listening to Bennett and Taven. Bennett reminded Cole of their time together earlier in their career. Taven told Cole he needed The Kingdom to take over Ring of Honor and when he achieved that, he jumped to The Bullet Club to cash in on their merchandise money. He went to Florida and he surrounded himself with all of their friends so they could help him hold on to that title for as long as he did. Now he comes here and says he’s a changed man, but he’s the same leach he’s always been. Now he’s latched on to MJF because he thinks that’s the gateway to the AEW title. Cole said if that’s the way he’s made them feel, he’s sorry. He knows friends should be understanding and they need to understand MJF is not only his friend, he’s his best friend. Strong said he won’t accept that and he’s going to enter the Grand Slam Tournament and he’s going to do what Cole couldn’t do and is beat MJF and become the AEW Champion with his real friends, Matt and Mike by his side. If Cole is his friend, he will be rooting for him. Cole told Strong this is a horrible idea because he is in no condition to wrestle because his neck is not in good shape. Strong said he is going to win the title because he is a wrestling legend.
Backstage, Penta told Orange Cassidy this is not personal, it’s just business, but he will hurt Jon Moxley because Moxley hurt his brother.
Kris Statlander, Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida vs Nyla Rose, Marina Shafir, & Emi Sakura
Shida held Rose to give her a kick. Baker went for the superkick, Rose got out of the way, and the kick connected with Shida. Statlander gave Shafir the Wednesday Night Fever and pinned her. After the match, Soho attacked Statlander, gave her the No Future.
A video package of Shane Taylor aired as he will challenge Samoa Joe for the ROH TV Championship at All Out.
Backstage, Don Callis showed X-Rays of Kenny Omega’s injuries and advised Takeshita on how to take advantage of this at All Out.
In the ring, The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass debuted new 6-Man Tag Team belts. They are pink belts that scissor in the back.
AEW International Championship Match
Orange Cassidy (Champion) vs Penta El Zero Miedo (w/ Alex Abrahantes)
Penta gave Cassidy the arm snap breaker. Penta hit Cassidy with The Fear Factor, but Cassidy kicked out and rolled Penta over to pin him.
===Winner: Orange Cassidy
After the match, Cassidy said his body hurts. Every time he has a title defense, his backpack gets heavier. He said Moxley better bring more than a fork because he will always be the International Champion. Moxley came down they had a staredown.
