Will Ospreay said last week I didn’t get cleared to wrestle, but the match on Sunday is unsanctioned so I will be there. It’s a risk, but it’s a risk worth taking because this place means so much to me.
Hiroshi Tanahashi & JetSpeed (Mike Bailey & Kevin Knight) vs The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and Claudio Castagnoli) (w/Marina Shafir)
Shafir was ejected from ringside early in the match. Ospreay made sure Shafir left the area. Gabe Kidd, Drilla Maloney, Clark Conners, and Robbie X came to ringside. Tanahashi hit the High Fly Flow on Wheeler to pin him.
Winners: Hiroshi Tanahashi & JetSpeed
Ospreay came out with a body bag. The Death Riders and War Dogs beat down Tanahashi and JetSpeed. The Young Bucks attacked Ospreay from behind and hit him with a double superkick. Roderick Strong and Kyle O’Reilly and Young Bucks brawled to the back. The Death Riders unzipped the body bag thinking it was Shafir but Darby Allin was in it, and he joined the brawl. The Opps joined the fight with everybody fighting into the crowd.
Killswitch returns
Christian Cage said Adam Copeland told me to go find myself. I took some time away. I found that I don’t need to change a thing. I’m perfect just the way I am. We are not on the same page but we are at least writing in the same book. I know people are looking for a happy reunion, but this is a reunion out of necessity. Adam has agreed to help me with my Nick and Kip problem, and in return, I agreed to help him with his FTR problem. Beyond that, I can’t commit to anything else, but I will commit to this. Adam and Christian shook hands.
Kip Sabin and Shayna Wayne came out. They played a video of Nick Wayne. He said Christian broke my foot last Wednesday. I won’t be there on Sunday. A video of Killswitch played on the wall. Killswitch came out and chokeslammed Copeland and Christian. It was immediately announced that Killswitch will take Nick’s place at Forbidden Door.
MJF and Ricochet form an alliance:
Backstage, MJF told Ricochet I don’t like you, but the enemy of my enemy is my friend, and right now our enemy is looking for me. What if we found him first? Do you want to be my friend? Ricochet said normally I love to see you running around all stressed out, however, Mark Briscoe irks me so you got yourself a friend.
AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament Finals: FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) (w/Stokely Hathaway) vs. Brodido (Brody King and ROH World Champion Bandido)
The match ended in a draw. The ring announcer said Tony Khan has made it official that both teams will face The Hurt Syndicate for the AEW World Tag Team Titles at Forbidden Door in a three-way match.
MJF takes Mark Briscoe hostage:
Page said he will defeat MJF at Forbidden Door. MJF’s music played but he didn’t come out. Tony Schiavone said MJF has one of our cameras backstage. He wants to speak to you, but if you leave the ring before he’s finished, according to MJF, something bad is going to happen to you.
MJF showed that Ricochet and the Gates of Agony were holding Mark Briscoe hostage. He poured gasoline on Briscoe. MJF said I want you to agree that our title match at Forbidden Door can now change hands on a DQ or count out, and I don’t have to use my contract to get my match at Forbidden Door. If you don’t agree, Briscoe will be Kentucky Fried. Page agreed to the match.
After the commercial break, Page found Ricochet backstage and hit him with a chair. He asked where MJF was when security broke them up.
Mercedes Mone & Athena vs Toni Storm & Alex Windsor
Athena gave Toni a piledriver on the ring steps. Windsor gave Mercedes a Samoan Drop. She locked Mercedes in the Scorpion Death Lock. Mercedes tapped, but she wasn’t the legal woman in the match. As Windsor argued with the referee, Athena hit her with the O-Face and pinned her.
Winners: Mercedes Mone & Athena
After the match, Mone brushed the title belt into Persephone who was in the front row. Persephone shoved her to the ground to end the show.
