AEW Dynamite Results: MJF Unveils New Title; Willow Nightingale Captures Gold

AEW Dynamite aired live on New Year’s Eve, December 31, from the Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Omaha, Nebraska.

MJF Championship Celebration
AEW World Champion MJF arrived in a white SUV and marched to the ring. He declared his superiority over Swerve Strickland, Samoa Joe, and Hangman Adam Page before discarding the standard title belt and unveiling a custom “Triple B” version. MJF issued an open challenge to the locker room. Kenny Omega interrupted via video, vowing to reclaim the championship. Swerve Strickland and Hangman Page then appeared in the crowd. Despite security attempting to hold them back, both men fought their way to ringside. Page threatened to strangle MJF with the belt, while Strickland warned that the hunt was on.

Samoa Joe Challenge
Samoa Joe appeared on the big screen alongside Powerhouse Hobbs. Joe addressed the recent attack on HOOK, stating that HOOK has been tasked to “seek and destroy.” He announced that Hobbs is targeting Swerve Strickland. In response, Swerve and Page issued a challenge to HOOK and Hobbs for a No Holds Barred Lights Out match next week.

Tornado Trios Match: The Death Riders vs. The Conglomeration & Toni Storm
In a Tornado Trios match, The Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, Marina Shafir, and Daniel Garcia) defeated Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, and “Timeless” Toni Storm. The match was chaotic from the start, featuring a brawl that spilled around the ringside area. Late in the match, Cassidy hit the Stundog Millionaire on Claudio, followed by a hip attack from Storm and a spinning DDT from Cassidy. However, Wheeler Yuta interfered, grabbing Cassidy’s hair to set up a decisive uppercut from Claudio for the pinfall.

Bandido vs. The Beast Mortos
Bandido defeated The Beast Mortos in a high-flying contest. After a back-and-forth exchange involving dives and heavy strikes, Mortos missed a Shooting Star Press. Bandido capitalized with a GTS followed by his signature 21 Plex suplex to secure the victory. Post-match, Brody King declared that Bandido is the “Most Wanted” man in AEW and stated that after Bandido wins the World Title, King is first in line for a shot.

Brody King vs. Lee Johnson
Lee Johnson attempted a pre-match dive to gain an advantage, but Brody King quickly overpowered him. King dominated the short encounter, finishing Johnson with a cannonball in the corner followed by a powerbomb for the win.

Darby Allin Promo
Darby Allin addressed the crowd, stating that he needs to finish what he started with The Death Riders. Having defeated the other members, he officially challenged PAC.

Continental Championship Eliminator: Jon Moxley vs. Josh Alexander
Jon Moxley defeated Josh Alexander via submission. Alexander attacked Moxley before the bell, targeting Moxley’s leg and ankle throughout the match. Alexander utilized an ankle lock and a figure-four around the ring post to weaken the champion. Moxley fought back, eventually locking in a rear naked choke and delivering a series of “hammer and anvil” elbows, forcing Alexander to tap out. MVP and Shelton Benjamin appeared on the stage to observe Moxley after the match.

National Championship: Ricochet vs. Jack Perry
Ricochet defended his National Championship against Jack Perry. The match saw interference from The Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) and Luchasaurus. Perry hit a German suplex and a DDT for near falls. In the closing moments, Bishop Kaun distracted Perry, allowing Ricochet to hit the Spirit Gun for the pinfall victory. Post-match, Ricochet and The Gates of Agony beat down Perry and Luchasaurus.

TBS Championship: Mercedes Moné vs. Willow Nightingale
In the main event, Willow Nightingale defeated Mercedes Moné to become the new TBS Champion. The physical match saw Moné suplex Nightingale onto the announce table and apply the Statement Maker. Nightingale showed resilience, powering out of Moné’s offense. After countering a jackknife pin attempt, Nightingale executed the Doctor Bomb to secure the three-count.
