Tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite is the annual Winter Is Coming special, live from the Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The AEW World Championship match between Samoa Joe and Eddie Kingston headlines the show.
Kingston has challenged Joe to bring the same “intensity and integrity” he displayed during his legendary ROH World Championship run in the 2000s. The two have traded harsh words since Full Gear, where The Opps cost Hangman Adam Page the title. Historic Alliance: Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland
In a shocking turn of events, bitter rivals Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland will team up for the first time ever. The duo, whose rivalry has defined much of AEW’s recent history, has called a temporary truce to take on a common enemy: The Opps.
Tonight, they face two-thirds of the AEW World Trios Champions, Powerhouse Hobbs and Katsuyori Shibata, in a Tornado Tag Team match. Fans will be watching closely to see if Page and Strickland can coexist long enough to secure a victory.
Inaugural Women’s World Tag Team Champions
History will be made as the finals of the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship tournament take place. The team of “Babes of Wrath” (Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron) will battle “Timeless Love Bombs” (Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa) to determine the inaugural champions.
Both teams sat down with Tony Schiavone on Collision to discuss their journey to the finals. The segment ended with a toast, as Shirakawa urged everyone to “give the fans a fight to remember,” leading Schiavone to remark, “Sh**, I’ll drink to that.”
Continental Classic Continues
The Continental Classic tournament rolls on with Week 3 action. Jack Perry makes his tournament debut tonight, replacing the injured Darby Allin in the Gold League. Allin was forced to withdraw after suffering a head injury in his opening match against Kevin Knight. Perry faces a daunting task in his first match as he takes on the reigning Continental Champion, Kazuchika Okada, who already has 3 points on the board.
In another Gold League bout, current leader Kyle Fletcher (6 points) looks to extend his lead against “Speedball” Mike Bailey, who is seeking his first points of the tournament. Here is the full card:
