AEW Full Gear in Baltimore closed out with the non-sanctioned match between Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley. The match closed out the show after the main event because the idea is that the show “officially” ended with the world title match and the rest of the action is not something that AEW is responsible for.
They started out in the ring but that didn’t last long because Moxley brought a trash can in the ring within the first minute of the match. They fought at ringside. Omega did a running dropkick at ringside over the barricade and onto Moxley near the crowd.
Moxley brought a barbed wire into the match and jabbed it into Omega’s stomach. Omega fought back but Moxley used the bat again in the stomach and on the back of Omega. Omega’s back had blood spots from the cuts from the bat. Omega fought back with a trash can and he grabbed the bat but he tossed it out of the ring. Omega grabbed a table from under the ring and set it up by the barricade. Omega pulled out a barbed wire broom but was hit in the head with a trash can. Moxley was going for a suicide dive but Omega hit him with the barbed wire broom. Omega hit Moxley with the broom on his back and cut him open.
Omega hit a moonsault with a trashcan in his hand. Omega pulled out a table with live mouse traps. Moxley’s forehead was busted open as they traded punches. Moxley slammed Omega’s back on the board with the mouse traps. Moxley brought gold anchor chains into the ring and then hit a sidewalk slam to Omega on the chains. Moments later, Moxley wrapped the chain around Omega’s face. Omega used a trash can lid to hit Moxley over the head several times to break a choke.
Moxley has a screwdriver in his hand and went to use it but Omega moved and the screwdriver ended up in the turnbuckle. Moxley backdropped Omega on the chains in the ring. Omega fought back with multiple snap dragon suplexes. Omega hung Moxley over the top rope. Omega lost his grip so Moxley was able to escape. Moxley dove over the top and crashed onto Moxley and through the table that was set up earlier.
Omega brought a bag into the ring and he pulled a piece of glass out of it and used it to cut in between Moxley’s fingers. Omega then poured out glass out of the bag. Moxley did a sit-down spinebuster on Moxley onto the glass. Omega locked in the sharpshooter but Moxley crawled through the glass to the bottom rope and break the hold.
Omega poured glass in Moxley’s mouth and then hit him with knee triggers. Omega dragged the screwdriver across Moxley’s head as Omega was crawling up the ramp. Omega called for The Young Bucks and Hangman Page to bring something to the ring but they refused because Omega was going too far. Omega said something to Matt Jackson and they finally agreed to go back and get what Omega wanted.
They brought out a bed full of barbed wire. Omega tried for the Angel’s Wings but Moxley countered. Moxley hit a suplex onto the barbed wire bed. AEW staff came out to help Mox and Omega out of the barbed wire but the match continued. Mox attacked staff members. Omega hit a knee trigger and he and Moxley crashed through part of the set with plexiglass.
The fight continued through the crowd and back in the ring. Omega went in the ring but Moxley caught him with the paradigm shift DDT on glass but Omega kicked out of the pin attempt. Moxley cut the ties that keep the ring canvas in place and he removed the canvas and the padding to expose the wood. Moxley went for a piledriver but Omega reversed into a backdrop onto the wood. Omega hit a knee trigger and a DDT but Moxley kicked out of the pin attempt. Omega went for the Phoenix splash but crashed hard on the board when Mox moved out of the way. Omega kicked out of the pin attempt. Mox hit an elevated Paradigm shift DDT onto the wood and that was enough to get the pin and win on Omega. Wow.
