The Buy-In

They showed video packages and interviews for the first 40 minutes.

NWA Women’s Championship
Serena Deeb (Champion) vs. Allysin Kay
There was some good mat wrestling to start off this match. The announcers noted that Kay and the NWA recently parted ways and she was challenging for the title of the company that she recently worked for. Deeb worked the left leg in the final minutes of the match and she retained by forcing Kay to tap out to the Serenity Lock.

After the match, Thunder Rosa walked out to the ring and she stood face to face with Deeb and she made it clear that she wants the title back.

They showed a video package for Hangman vs. Omega and then Alex Abrahantas interviewed Eddie Kingston and his stable.

Jim Ross was introduced.

Main Card

Impact Wrestling EVP called the Page vs. Omega match. He noted that it was Omega who asked him to be there.

AEW World Championship Eliminator Final
Hangman Page vs. Kenny Omega

Omega and Page traded chops to start the match. Page got the first significant offense with a knee to the face and the fallaway slam and a suplex off the top rope into a pin attempt. They fought at ringside for a couple of minutes. There was a moonsault off the barricade spot from Omega to Page.

The match then moved back into the ring and Omega was talking to himself, something that Excalibur says he’s been doing a lot in recent weeks. Moments later, Omega hit his trademark tope dive over the top onto Page at ringside. A few minutes later, Page tried to turn things around with the Buckshot Lariat but Omega caught him with a knee to the face and then Omega went for a powerbomb on the ramp but Page countered into his own powerbomb to Omega on the ramp.

Back in the ring, Page hit a pop-up powerbomb into a pin attempt. There was a great exchange with both men exchanging blows and Omega ended the exchange with a Tiger Driver 98 into a pin attempt. There was another exchange that included a snap dragon from Omega with Page no selling and hitting a discus punch into the Deadeye and into a pin attempt that Omega barely kicked out of.

Omega escaped a Buckshot Lariat attempt and then hit Page with knees to the face. Omega then hit the One Winged Angel and pinned Page to become the number 1 contender for the AEW World Title.

A commercial aired for the AEW Games announcement coming on Tuesday.

Orange Cassidy vs. John “4” Silver

The match started with Silver getting angry at Cassidy for putting his hands in his pockets and then Cassidy took him down on the mat into an early pin attempt. Cassidy then did his trademark comedy kicks to the shins and then hit a drop kick while having his hands in his pockets.

Silver did the unthinkable and ripped out Cassidy’s pockets and then stuffed them in his mouth. Good back and forth match. Cassidy won with his finisher and then Best Friends walked out to celebrate with him.

TNT Championship
Cody Rhodes (Champion) vs. Darby Allin

Allin smashed the windshield of a car during his entrance. Rhodes was accompanied to the ring by The Nightmare family, including new members Lee Johnson, Billy and Austin Gunn.

Rhodes dominated the first half of the match and Anderson kept yelling at him to stay focused, including one time when Rhodes decided to mockingly do push-ups in the ring while Allin was out. Late in the match, Rhodes hit a Cross Rhodes off the top rope but referee Mike Chioda stopped counting when he saw Allin’s arm under the bottom rope.  There was another spot with Allin on Rhodes’ back and Rhodes climbing to the top rope and falling back with Allin on his back. The story being told was that Allin would not quit under any circumstance and Rhodes seemed to be taking Allin lightly..

Allin was finally about to mount some offense and then he hit the coffin drop but Rhodes kicked out of the pin attempt. There was a rollup sequence with both men countering each other into rollups and Allin got the best of the sequence by pinning Rhodes.

After the match, Rhodes got on one knee and handed the title to Allin as fans chanted “you deserve it.” Great match and a great moment for Allin. Arn Anderson was not happy about Rhodes not following the playbook.

Taz walked out with a mic in his hands with some words for Allin and Rhodes. Ricky Starks and Brian Cage snuck up and attacked both of them. Starks and Cage seemed to tease dissension as they both went to grab the TNT Title but Taz calmed things down and Cage walked off with Allin on his shoulders. Cage threw Allin through part of a set piece and then they wen tot slam the door of the car on Allin but Will Hobbs ran out to chase the heels away.

Dasha interviewed QT Marshall and Dustin Rhodes. Rhodes said they will face The Butcher and The Blade on AEW Dynamite in a Bunkhouse match.

AEW Women’s World Championship
Hikaru Shida vs. Nyla Rose

Shida started off with some running dropkicks and a running knee strike in the first few seconds of the match. As the match went to ringside, Shida tried to launch herself for an offensive move off a chair but Rose caught her with a clothesline. Aubrey Edwards stopped Rose from trying to use a table and a chair as a weapon. Shida had time to recover so she could hit a running knee that knocked Rose through the barricade. Vickie Guerrero bashed Shida’s knee with a kendo stick and that allowed Rose to take over the match.

Shida had trouble throughout the rest of the match because of the issue with her right knee. Late in the match, Rose did her trademark diving knee drop onto the back of Shida’s knee while Shida was draped over the top rope. Shida went for a move off the top but Shida stopped her by ramming Rose’s heat into the turnbuckle pad and then following up with a kick to the face that knocked Rose onto the rampway. Shida then hit a diving dropkick from the top rope and a missle dropkick off the top on Rose in the ring into a pin attempt. Shida was still favoring her right knee as JR wondered when her knee would give out.

Rose hit the Beast Bomb but she pulled Shida up during he pin attempt and then she hit a running knee but Shida kicked out at one during the pin attempt. Shida fought back with a back body drop and running knee strike in the corner. Shida then hit an Avalanche Falcon Arrow off the top but Shida taunted Rose by pulling her up before the three count. Shida went for a move off the topes but Guerrero grabbed her and that distraction allowed Rose to get back up. Shida shoved Rose into Guerrero as the ref took a kendo stick away from Guerrero. Shida hit a Falcon Arrow but Rose kicked out. Shida hit a running kick and Rose kicked out of the pin attempt. Shida followed up with a running kick to the back and several kicks to the face. That was enough for her to pin Rose and retain her title.

After the match, Guerrero yelled at Rose and slapped her. Guerrero was not happy about Rose not following with the plan.

AEW World Tag Team Championship
FTR (Champions) vs. The Young Bucks

Tully Blanchard walked out with FTR for their entrance but he was banned from ringside for the match. Excalibur said Matt Jackson received a cortisone shot earlier today on his injured ankle.

The first few minutes of the match started with some standard wrestling, quick tags and tandem offense. Matt and Nick dominated the first several minutes of the match but Matt’s bad ankle was a hindrance throughout the match because he aggravated it during a moonsault attempt.

Dax  Harwood’s hand appeared to be cut open so he had Dr. Sampson tape it up. FTR continued to work on Matt’s ankle while Nick looked on from the ring apron. After taking a beating for several minutes, Matt was able to free himself from Dax but Cash took out Nick on the apron so Matt had to continue wrestling with the bad ankle.

Matt was finally able to make the hot tag after taking out both members of FTR. Nick was fresh so he hit an offensive flurry. Nick went for a cross body off the top but Cash caught him and FTR turned it into a Hart Attack. Nick kicked out of the pin attempt.

Matt was still hurting but he recovered enough so he could tag in. Matt tried a Buckle Bomb but his ankle gave out and then FTR took over with some double team offense, including the Steiner Bulldog off the top. The Bucks came back with their own double team offense, including a Dudley 3D and a Jeff Hardy Swanton bomb from Nick that almost ended the match. FTR also paid tribute to DIY with a double running knee from both Dax and Cash to Matt.

Nick Jackson got back into the match and he took out Cash while Matt locked in the Sharpshooter on Dax. Dax made it to the rope to break up the move but Nick caught him with a superkick. Nick then put Cash in the sharpshooter on the ramp. Cash, who was not the legal man, tapped and Matt had to let go of Dax because his ankle was in pain. Matt snapped Dax’s bad hand and then he and Nick hit the BTE trigger into a pin attempt that was broken up by Cash. Nick tagged in Matt and then took out Cash at ringside. Matt brought a chair in the ring but Nick reminded him that they would never challenge again for the titles if they are disqualified. The Bucks set up for the Meltzer Driver but Cash put Nick through a table at ringside. FTR then hit the spike piledriver for the pin attempt but Matt’s leg was on the bottom rope. Cash ripped off Matt’s boot and sock so they could work on his bad ankle and Cash dove off the top to land on it. Dax locked in an ankle lock as Nick got back in the ring and hit a 450 off the top to break up the ankle lock.

Moments later, Dax and Nick were taken out of the match so it was Cash and Matt. Cash knocked out Matt with a superkick and then he went for a springboard moonsault that missed and Matt hit the superkick to win the match and the titles. This was an awesome match.

Kenny Omega went out to celebrate with The Bucks and Hangman Page was seen watching from the entrance way.

The Elite Deletion Match
Matt Hardy vs. Sammy Guevara

It started with Matt on the phone talking to someone and saying that he would need them if he called them later.

Guevara showed up in a golf cart and hologram Broken Matt appeared to welcome him. Matt then teleported into a monster truck to crush the golf cart as Guevara ran off. Guevara then snuck up on Matt and hit him with a trash can.

They fought their way through a wooded area and towards Matt’s house and the announcers provided commentary. The fight continued as they made their way to a wrestling ring. Hardy put Guevara through a table but Santana and Ortiz appeared to break up the pin attempt and to attack Hardy.

Private Party ran out to the ring to take out Santana and Ortiz as Hardy grabbed some projectile fireworks and ran off with them. Hardy fired off the fireworks and Guevara did the same in Hardy’s direction as Private Party and Santana/Ortiz continued to fight in the ring.

Hardy was about to put Guevara into the lake of Reincarnation but Gangrel appeared and Hurricane Helms appeared but he was tossed into the lake by Guevara. Roving reporter Gregory Helms appeared and then was thrown into the lake.

The match continued in the ring and Hurri8cane appeared again to join everyone in the ring. Guevara chased Hardy into the Dome of Deletion shed and they brawled as the door closed to lock them in. They made their way into a ring inside the dome and the ring had a ladder and table inside of it. Guevara dismantled the ropes and used them to choke out Hardy but Hardy wouldn’t tap out so Guevara set him up on the table in the ring. Guevara then hit a Swanton Bomb off the top and through Hardy and the table but Hardy kicked out of the pin attempt.

Guevara went for another move but Hardy countered into the Twist of Fate and then he speared Guevara off the ring and through a table at ringside. Hardy launched a chair at Guevara’s head for payback for what happened to him months ago. Hardy then set up Guevara on his stomach and then smashed a chair over his head. Hardy pinned Guevara to win the Elite Deletion match.

Private Party helped Hardy put Guevara into a trash bin and Hardy then wheeled it out onto the back of a pickup truck. Senor Benjamin drove off and Reby Hardy was shown playing the piano.

There was a Lance Archer and Jake Roberts promo that took place in an alley.

Chris Jericho vs. MJF

For his entrance, MJF had a robe that lit up and he did Jericho’s old pose that he used to do in WWE. Jericho got an overwhelming babyface reaction from the 1,000+ fans in attendance.

Jericho gt most of the offense in the first few minutes but he hurt his right elbow on the ring post at ringside and that was an issue throughout the match. That is the same elbow he uses for the Judas Effect finisher.

Jericho looked good when he hit a double sledgehammer off the top, a lionsault and a hurricanrana off the top rope. Later on he went for a superplex off the top but MJF countered it and dropped Jericho in the ring and he continued to work on the bad arm.

Moments later, Jericho countered the Salt of the Earth with the Walls of Jericho but MJF got to the bottom rope. At one point, MJF went for a Lionsault but Jericho countered into the Lionsalt. Jericho also tried the Judas Effect but MJF countered into an armbar on the bad arm but Jericho got his hand on the bottom rope. Wardlow ran out to give MJF the Dynamite Diamond Ring. Ref Aubrey was distracted and Jericho was going to use a bat but he was caught by the ref. MJF then rolled up Jericho for the win.

After the match, Jericho and MJF shook hands and hugged. Jericho welcomed him and Wardlow to The Inner Circle.

AEW Revolution was announced for Saturday, February 27.

Dasha interviewed Orange Cassidy and Best Friends. They were confronted by Miro, Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford. Sabian slapped Sabian.

AEW World Championship – “I Quit” Match
Jon Moxley (Champion) vs. Eddie Kingston

They started off with a slugfest as Mox delivered several blows to the face and then they traded chops to the chest. Kingston tried to set up a chair but was caught when Mox hit a tope suicida through the ropes onto Kingston at ringside and the fight continued around the ringside area and into the seats.

The camera showed that Mox’s head was bleeding as they made their way back to the ring. Mox used a barbed wire back across the front and back of Kingston. Mox also used the barbed wire bat across Kingston’s forehead to cut him open. Kingston fought back with a pair of backdrops and a chair to the face and back.

Kingston then took a piece of barbed wire off the bat and wrapped it around his hand and then punched Mox in the head. Kingston locked Mox in a kimura lock but Mox bit Kingston in the leg to break the hold. Kingston brought a bag of thumbtacks and poured them in the corner of the ring.  Kingston hit two consecutive German suplexes but Mox popped up with a running clothesline. Mox went for a Paradigm Shift but Kingston countered and slammed Mox’s back onto the thumbtacks.

Kingston then poured rubbing alcohol on Moxley’s back that was punctured by the tacks. Kingston then locked in a Bulldog Choke and then some crossface shots and knees to the body but Mox countered into a sleeper and his own Bulldog Choke and Paradigm Shift. Mox then locked in the Bulldog Choke with barbed wire and that was enough to force Kingston to say “I Quit.”

Mox tried to help Kingston up but he refused and walked off on his own to the back. Mox’s next challenger Kenny Omega walked out to get a look at the champ.
