AEW Full Gear Results: Samoa Joe Wins World Heavyweight Title, Swerve Strickland Returns

AEW World Champion Hangman Adam Page vs. Samoa Joe in a steel cage match took place at the AEW Full Gear pay-per-view event from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Early on in the bout, Joe was bleeding from his forehead as Page hit him with a boot. Joe put Page up against the fence and busted him open. Page tried to put him in the rear-naked choke and did, but Joe got out of it. They brawled on the top rope and Page hit a powerbomb. Page was distracted by Shibata, who grabbed the World Title, and climbed the cage only for Eddie Kingston to run down and stopped him. Joe took out the referee and Page hit the dead eye, but no referee. Powerhouse Hobbs broke the chain and opened the door. Page hit Hobbs with a low blow then tossed him into the face. Joe put him in the sleeper only for Page to get out of it. Page with the buckshot lariat and Hook ran out to wake up the referee. Hook got the title and hit Page with the title. Joe hit the muscle buster on the title belt for the win.

Winner: Joe

The lights went out then back on with the Opps Dojo in the ring with Joe. We see the return of Swerve Strickland, who punched a security guard and they restrained him long enough for Joe to get out of there. Page and Swerve stood tall to end the show.
