For the most part, AEW prevents spoilers from getting out within the company. They can’t do much with fans posting results from the Dynamite tapings.
Most notably, last year, AEW had an issue with things leaking out. A person leaked Eric Bischoff’s surprise appearance on AEW Dynamite to host the debate between Chris Jericho and Orange Cassidy. This person had also leaked spoilers from other shows dating back to the Stadium Stampede match in May.
In August, Jericho called the person who leaked the surprise an “NXT reject,” but noted that the person isn’t welcome back in AEW.
When Brodie Lee was in the hospital before he passed away due to a non-COVID lung issue, no one from AEW leaked the news until it was announced by the promotion.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE still has a sign on the wall about not slapping your thigh while AEW has a sign on the wall that says, “Spoilers cost jobs. Don’t do it.”
As noted, there has been a new edict issued in WWE about wrestlers no longer being allowed to slap the thigh to make noise.
