AEW had to reschedule all TV events through May 20th due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. The promotion wanted to tape matches every Wednesday for the show in order to run on a week-by-week basis from Jacksonville, Florida at Daily’s Place.
That got changed this week which led to AEW holding sets of TV tapings over the course of a few days in Norcross, Georgia. That changed on Thursday when a shelter-in-place order signed by Governor Brian Kemp was issued in the state.
This will run through from April 3rd to the 13th. Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the promotion has several matches taped for April 8th and the 15th episodes of Dynamite.
By doing so, this will allow them to weather the storm of the order if it’s not extended. With cases of the virus increasing daily, it’s likely that this order will be extended.
Per the report, “it is believed AEW has yet another back-up plan should this happen.” However, it’s not known what the exact plan is. AEW could move to another location or perhaps air PPV matches on Dynamite.
