AEW has big plans for Jungle Boy

Although AEW booked Jungle Boy to lose his latest match doesn’t mean the promotion doesn’t see big things in his future.

As seen on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite in Jacksonville, Florida at Daily’s Place on TNT, Kenny Omega and Adam Page successfully retained the Tag Team Titles over Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus).

The finish of the contest saw Page and Omega hit their tag team finisher, Last Call, to Jungle Boy to get the pinfall.

Dave Meltzer noted on today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that AEW has plans for Jungle Boy, but wants to wait until fans can return to attending shows where they can give him a major victory.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, he had been part of some big singles feuds even though he was still affiliated with Jurassic Express.

Part of the plans to make him a big star has included him losing or going to a draw in big singles matches before getting the major victory to put him over as a bigger star. He has worked with the likes of Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, and MJF.
