AEW Has Seriously Discussed Giving Popular Star A World Title Run

AEW is gearing up for its All In pay-per-view event this Sunday, with AEW World Heavyweight Champion Swerve Strickland vs. Bryan Danielson as the main event.

Other top bouts on the card include AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm vs. Mariah May, AEW International Champion MJF vs. Will Ospreay, AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone vs. Britt Baker, and AEW TNT Champion Jack Perry vs. Darby All In in a Coffin Match.

While many expect Danielson to win the title due to his wrestling career being on the line, he may not have a long run. In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that there has been talk of putting the title on Allin soon.

Meltzer wrote, “Nobody expects a long title run from Danielson, but for one month feels too short. We’ve heard talk of Allin getting a run as champion no matter who wins. We know that’s been talked about seriously, but as to when, that’s less clear.”

Allin is set to compete against the World Heavyweight Champion at the AEW Dynamite Grand Slam on September 25, 2024.
