Buddy Murphy, who was released by WWE due to budget cuts, has a few options for where he could end up next.
Murphy will become a free agent when his 90-day non-compete clause expires on Tuesday, August 31.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW has an interest in signing Murphy. This comes one week after Meltzer reported that Impact Wrestling was looking to make a strong play to bring Murphy in.Â
Murphy is slated to work his first match outside of the WWE banner at Pennsylvania Premiere Wrestling’s Anniversary Show on September 11th at the Signature Training Academy.
The former WWE star will also wrestle AEW star Brian Cage on Saturday, September 18 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia for the Battleground Championship Wrestling promotion.
