AEW Is Optimistic That Injured Star Will Be Returning Soon

AEW could be getting back a top star that has been injured for a year now.

Adam Cole has been out of action since suffering a broken ankle at the AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam 2023 special while running to the ring during the World Title match between MJF and Samoa Joe. He jumped off the entrance ramp to the floor at the ringside and began limping.

This caused AEW to drastically change its plans, including Cole and MJF defending the ROH Tag Team Titles. Cole was revealed as The Devil at Worlds End, laying out MJF after losing the World Heavyweight Title. MJF got his revenge at Double Or Nothing when he laid out his former tag team partner.

Fightful Select reports the word backstage within the promotion is that “they’re hopeful and even expecting to get Adam Cole back sooner than later, and that wheels have already been put in motion to prepare for that on-screen.”

In late August, Cole was slated to resume in-ring training and sources said  he was in good spirits when they saw him at All Out. We wish him a speedy recovery.
