AEW Is Trying A New Strategy With Dynasty PPV

AEW Dynasty could be the beginning of something new for fans who purchase AEW pay-per-view events.

The promotion will host its Dynasty event from Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, MO, on Sunday, April 21. This is the inaugural event, and the promotion continues to increase the number of events it presents every year, with more coming.

Bryan Danielson vs. Will Ospreay is the only bout confirmed for the show thus far. However, that will be changing soon. Based on what AEW has been teasing on television, it looks like the promotion will add AEW World Heavyweight Champion Samoa Joe vs. Swerve Strickland, Kazuchika Okada vs. Pac for the Continental Title, Mercedes Mone against TBS Champion Julia Hart or Willow Nightingale, Toni Storm defending the Women’s Title against Thunder Rosa, and The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn vs. Jay White & Gunn Brothers for the Trios Title.

There will also be the finals of the Tag Team Title Tournament, where new champions will be crowned.

TrillerTV announced today that the event will be carried live on their platform in North America, including The United States. It will be interesting to see whether the platform carries pay-per-view events going forward, as previously, Bleacher Report was the exclusive streaming home for AEW PPV events in the market, while Triller would have international rights. AEW also airs its shows at select locations and on traditional pay-per-view providers through cable.

TrillerTV, formerly FITE, was able to air the Revolution PPV after fans had issues attempting to order and access the show on Bleacher Report.
